As we move forward, what keeps me hopeful is simple: people working together. At International Needs New Zealand we’re privileged to partner with communities who show extraordinary resilience, ingenuity and care for one another. Whether it’s the women leading savings groups in Nepal, communities improving sanitation in Uganda, or local teams pioneering new ways to support children’s learning, the progress we see is a product of partnership — with communities, local leaders, donors and volunteers.
This year we have been reminded that lasting change is rarely dramatic. It is the steady work of neighbours teaching neighbours, of local staff adapting programs to local needs, and of supporters who choose to stand beside communities through the long haul. That steady work is what turns small gains into real, measurable improvements in health, education and livelihoods.

We’re also investing in listening — ensuring the people we serve shape the solutions we support. This means our programs are increasingly community-led, culturally grounded, and flexible enough to adapt as realities change. It’s not always the fastest path, but it’s the right one for creating dignity and sustained impact.
None of this is possible without you. Our donors, partner churches, volunteers and staff bring time, expertise and resources. Your decisions to give, to advocate, and to walk beside communities multiply the difference we can make together.
Looking ahead, our focus remains the same: to deepen partnerships, scale what works, and ensure the voices of communities lead the way. If you’re curious about how you can support a specific project, join a learning session, or share our stories with others, we’d love to hear from you.
Thank you for standing with us — for believing that when communities, partners and donors act together, lasting transformation follows.
Ngā mihi nui,
Stephen
