Quiz Night for a Cause

On May 22nd, we came together for a lively evening of fun and fundraising at our Quiz Night for a Cause, supporting survivors of human trafficking through the Chab Dai project in Cambodia. This life-changing initiative provides legal aid, emergency aid and trauma care, and vocational training for a fresh start. Around 90 people joined us for an entertaining quiz, an auction, and community fellowship.

Thanks to the generosity of our incredible sponsors — Loan Market, Alpas Media, Deighton Creative, Keam Standen Lawyers, MAF, Secret Spot, Tranquillo Beauty Clinic, Work-Life Physiotherapy, Port of Tauranga, Moana Rd, The Atrium, Redwoods Treewalk, The Barista, Central Meridian, Hobbiton, AE Photos, Palmers Welcome Bay, Peter Chin, CrediFlex, Pathways Bible College, and Paul Finch — and the support of our guests, we raised an amazing $8,800!

A big congratulations to Bad Mums, our quiz champions for the second year running! We’re so grateful to everyone who made the night possible. Together, we are bringing justice and healing to survivors through our Chab Dai partnership.

A Mid-Winter Christmas for a Cause in Balfour

When Helen decided to organise a fundraiser for International Needs, she turned her small-town idea into something unforgettable. Seventy people gathered for a Mid-Winter Christmas event — some even travelling in from nearby towns to be part of the night.

The Balfour community came together in full force, donating raffle and auction prizes, including a beautiful hand-painted artwork. Guests arrived in festive Christmas attire, adding to the joy of the evening, with prizes awarded for the best dressed.

The highlight of the night came when Helen spoke about International Needs and the Nepal WASH Project. As she finished, the room spontaneously erupted into applause — a moving reminder of the power of shared purpose.

The evening carried on with laughter, bidding, and fellowship. In fact, Helen said she eventually had to turn off the building lights to encourage people to head home — proof of just how much people enjoyed gathering for a good cause.

We’re so grateful for ambassadors like Helen, who use their creativity and passion to support INNZ projects. If you’ve ever thought about hosting your own event — big or small — we’d love to cheer you on. Whether it’s a dinner, a fun run, a quiz night, or something uniquely you, your initiative can make a lasting impact. If this is you, contact us at marketing@innz.org.nz.
