The Project

In Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, access to safe and affordable healthcare remains out of reach for many families. The International Needs Medical Centre addresses this by providing essential healthcare services, including malaria prevention, maternal care, and support for vulnerable patients.

Today, the centre continues to grow in both capacity and impact — improving safety, expanding services, and strengthening care for the community.

Objectives

  • Providing accessible, quality healthcare for vulnerable communities
  • Supporting maternal and child health through safe deliveries and care
  • Preventing and treating malaria through testing, education, and mosquito nets
  • Delivering essential health services, screenings, and community education
  • Improving clinical safety through upgraded equipment and hygiene practices

Progress

Over the past quarter:

  • 3,000+ nursing consultations were provided
  • 300+ safe deliveries supported mothers and newborns
  • 40 women screened for breast and cervical cancer
  • 3 community awareness campaigns delivered on women’s health

A new state-of-the-art steriliser has significantly improved patient safety, reducing infection risk by an estimated 95% and enabling faster, more efficient care.

Malaria prevention remains a priority, with mosquito nets distributed to vulnerable patients alongside education on their use.

Impact

These combined efforts are improving health outcomes, strengthening trust in the health system, and providing safer, more reliable care for families.

To help the Burkina Faso Medical Centre continue their valuable work, we aim to provide $40,000 of financial support each year. Your contribution will ensure that quality healthcare remains accessible to the most vulnerable, improving health and saving lives.

Sanou Karidja

I am Sanou Karidja, an internally displaced person. I had to leave my village due to terrorist attacks. I want to say big thanks to the Ophel Health Center and all the donors for this gift of mosquito net. This will protect me and my family against mosquito and malaria; may God bless you.
