Uganda WASH

Providing CLEAN & SAFE water to communities as well as sanitation facilities.

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

Isaiah 12:3

The Project

In rural Uganda, many families still lack reliable access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene. While earlier phases of WASH (Water, Hygiene and Sanitation) brought life-changing improvements, some communities continue to face critical gaps.

Families — especially women, children, and the elderly — still walk long distances to collect unsafe water, increasing the risk of disease and limiting time for school, work, and daily life.

WASH III builds on this progress, returning to communities to complete the work already started and ensure long-term, sustainable access to safe water and sanitation.

Objectives

  • Repairing and maintaining boreholes to restore safe water access
  • Improving sanitation facilities in schools and communities
  • Installing rainwater tanks and supporting safe water storage
  • Delivering hygiene education and community health sessions
  • Training local pump mechanics and Water Committees
  • Supporting girls with reusable sanitary products

Progress so far

  • Previous WASH phases have significantly increased access to safe water
  • Communities have improved hygiene practices and reduced disease rates
  • Local leadership structures are in place to manage water systems

What’s next

  • Completing remaining water and sanitation gaps in nine villages
  • Strengthening long-term maintenance systems
  • Expanding access to safe, reliable water for families still waiting
  • Supporting schools with improved sanitation facilities

Impact

Clean water means health, dignity, and opportunity. This work is helping transform daily survival into long-term possibility for families and communities.

Our mission is to raise $60,000 annually to keep our Water Projects flowing. Water is the essence of life, and with your generous help, we can ensure these communities have the safe, clean water they need this year.

Kantono Ruth

Kantono Ruth, a 103-year-old blind woman, and her daughter, Nabwire Beatrice, experienced an improved quality of life after receiving a 500-liter water tank in Kikwanya. The tank provides easy access to clean water, eliminating the need for arduous journeys and enhancing their health, hygiene, and daily independence.
