Rupali Begum and her husband, Chandmia, once owned land along the Jamuna River in Phulchari Upazila, Gaibanda District. However, the devastating 2020 flood swept away their homes, forcing the family to seek refuge and work in Jamalpur District. After struggling to find employment, they eventually settled in Savar.
Rupali's youngest child had been battling a fever and cold for two months, but due to financial constraints, she couldn’t afford to take him to the doctor. The cost of a clinic visit would be at least 700 takas, excluding tests and medication. One day, while walking to the market, Rupali noticed women and children carrying medicine. After asking around, she discovered the availability of health services. Wasting no time, she brought her child to the doctor and was relieved to receive medical attention and medication. After follow-up care, her child recovered fully, and Rupali is deeply grateful for the free medical services that were provided.
International Needs has witnessed a remarkable impact through its medical camps. In 2025, the organization plans to conduct five medical camps per quarter in Dhaka, Naogaon, Jashore, Barishal, and Savar as part of a larger Medical Assistance Program, aiming to reach 10,000 people with vital care and support.
